Venarotta emerges between the valleys of the Fluvione and the Chiaro at 421 m a.s.l. Its territory is inparts rugged, descending towards the south-west in gentle slpopes. Its name may derive from the ruins of a small temple dedicated to Venus discovered on the hill where it stands or it stems geographically from the word “vena” which also in Ascoli dialect means “cava” that is stony
ground. |
