trees, oleanders and maritime pines embellish a waterfront that stretches
for 5 kilometers. San Benedetto del Tronto is both exotic and elegant, and
is composed of two parts; the Torre dei Gualtieri, the remnant of an
ancient stronghold, characterizes one while the other part is near the
seaside. It is more outstretched, with several examples of Liberty
architecture, a wide sandy beach and modern tourist and sporting
facilities. San Benedetto is the most important fishing center of the
Adriatic and fish dishes characterize its typical cuisine.
