small resort of artistic importance and with beautiful landscape is
situated along the river Chienti which flows through a narrow valley
surrounded by mountains. Numerous archaeological finds lead us to believe
that the origins of this site go back to prehistoric times. In the Middle
Ages, it was part of the Dukedom of Camerino. Since the 15th
century, as with all the castles of this area, it had an important
fortified mill. |
