Not one but a thousand legends are told about sublime
crests of Mt Sibilla where, in
an enchanted cave, protected by huge rocks collocated around the top in a
shape of a crown, dwells Sibilla
appenninica.
According to those legends, if a human succeeded in passing innumerable
obstacles on the way (sudden and violent currents of the air, bridges
hanging over abysses, dragons guarding the path), Sibilla would reveal him
destiny, gave him powers, showed dance of her servants or clenched him in
a demoniac embrace.
