Description
This marvellous cave has been dug many years ago just below the very centre of Ancona. The place has been recently restored and completely insulated. A kitchen has been built using traditional materials. The place is a real jewel of Ancona past traditions. Old fishermen still stroll there to live their passion, the sea. Many of them still use these caves in summer to set up at sea early in the morning. During the quiet afternoons, having parked their cars and having had a walk around Il Passetto they go there and sit in front of the blue Adriatic sea. They used to work hard there, but they love that place as nature there is still untouched and it is pervaded by tradition. Beautiful doors painted in different colours and the sea rich in fish and mussels provides the setting for beautiful days at sea where to enjoy barbeques or simply reading a book comfortably seated in front of your cave. The scenery is stunning and just a small boat would be your means of transportations to beautiful small beaches that can be reached in five minute sailing.
