Marche
Riviera offers a wide range of resorts : endless expanses of thin,
golden sand and white pebbled beaches, rocks overlooking the clear sea
and emerging here and there from the blue sea itself. Ports here are
getting more and more equipped to better welcome tourists.
The Marche coastline stretches over 180 km and offers such different
sceneries that everybody can find the perfect place to stay. The sea
that washes the Marche coastline has been often awarded of European
recognitions for its clearness.
“Rivera
delle Colline” (Hilly Riviera) streches from Gabicce Mare. There
the sandy seaside, be it broad or narrow, changes place with woods and
river mouths. Families with children are there offered a safe sea to
enjoy and be completely at ease. The area from the small Gulf of Gabicce
and Pesaro is a Regional Park (Regional
Park of Monte San Bartolo 1996) because of the small picturesque
fishermen villages on the sea. Fano, Marotta and Senigallia have always
been renowned sea-resorts. They are provided with all tourist comforts
and high quality facilities.
Going South the eye meet with the magnificent Monte Conero headland
and the wonderful Riviera with its white pebbled beaches. The sun plays
marvellous light-games on the multifaceted rock and the white beaches.
The promontory is rich in natural caves, some of which reachable only by
sea and others through paths spotted with scented brooms. Portonovo and
Sirolo beaches are set, like jewels, among Mediterranean scrubs. They
are perfect for those who want to be surrounded by untouched nature and
to discover fascinating sea beds concealed by the sea. Southwards Numana
(provided with an efficient tourist port) and Marcelli (rich in holiday
resorts) offer broad and comfortable beaches.
Quiet
pine forest characterize the area of Porto Recanati, Porto Potenza
Picena and Civitanova Marche with its two ports (a tourist one and the
other mainly used by fishermen ) that stand as an evidence of the ancient relationship with the sea. The area
South of Sant’Elpidio is called the “Verde
Riviera Picena” (Green Riviera Picena) and no wonder! The pebbled
beaches of Sant’ Elpidio and Lido di Fermo are in fact often enclosed
by little woods , and so are the sandy shores of the refined Porto San
Giorgio coastline and the white rocks of Pedaso. Nature enriches also
fascinating sea resorts such as Cupramarittima, Grottammare and San
Benedetto del Tronto whose extended palm groves have earned them the
name of “Riviera delle Palme”.
All
these different realities can offer visitors various but unique resorts.
Clean water and stunning beaches can meet the desires of everyone.
