Plein
Air
Every
village and every valley of Le Marche holds its own secrets and beauty,
it’s wonderful to be able to stop as often as you like in the many
equipped areas which are dotted all over the region, (usually provided
by the commune, pro-loco or local association aimed at the protection of
local monuments and the environment) allowing you to completely savour
and enjoy all aspects of Le Marche, linger over the sweet scent which
fills the air and marvel over the many colours produced by nature.
There
are many privately managed campsites throughout Le Marche, situated both
along the coastline and inland. Campsites allow a great deal of
flexibility when travelling, enabling you to plan a varied itinerary,
for example you could spend a few days by the sea and enjoy the
beautiful sights of Pesaro and then make your way towards Gradara where
you’ll be consumed with the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca.
Perhaps you’d then like to continue your journey to the castled town
of San Leo (stopping in a fully equipped area right under the enchanting
fortress). You could then go on to medieval Sant’Agata Feltria with
its superb fortress - Rocca Fregoso and enjoy the town’s famous,
traditional scented white truffles, similar to those of Acqualagna.
The
Ancona province also provides a wide array of rest areas: amongst the
old walls of Corinaldo, in the Renaissance town of Fabriano, around
Genga (just a few minutes from the Grotte di Frasassi caves), or in the
monumental Loreto. Or perhaps you’d prefer to breathe in the perfume
of the sea in Senigallia or explore the hills and the enchanted
landscapes of Morro d’Alba, Mergo, Osimo and Sassoferrato.
Crossing
the province of Macerata you can stop by the woods of Pian dell’Elmo
or in the mountains of Bolognola and Sarnano, in the cool marine breeze
at Portorecanati and Porto Potenza Picena or perhaps around Treia,
famous for its traditional old ball game of pallone col bracciale. You might also like to take in the art and
culture in places such as Recanati, Macerata, Camerino and San Severino
Marche.
Finally,
the province of Ascoli Piceno offers complete hospitality, everywhere
has something to offer: Acquasanta and its thermal baths, the pure
mountain air of Comunanza, and the cliffs of Montefalcone Appennino.
Offida and its expert lacemakers who can be seen at work in the streets
of the village. Or you might like to visit Falerone with its interesting
archaeological park and fantastic wine, or simply relax on the renowned
palm studded beach of San Benedetto del Tronto.
Le
Marche, a unique treasure trove of natural jewels, architecture and
artists, the perfect place to explore in a campervan allowing you to set
your own pace and marvel at the sights which each new corner brings. The
perfect way to fully appreciate and admire the beauty of Le Marche and
the hospitality of its people: because it’s here where every climb
reveals breathtaking landscapes, every curve a new charm, every
picturesque descent lays out the beauty that lies between the hills and
the sea.
