The complex ’”Antica Fabbrica Laterizi” (Ancient brick-kiln) where Coquus Fornacis is set, dates back to 1884. The circular plant makes it one of the most ancient examples of the Hoffman style brick-kilns. The place was abandoned in the ’70. It was later purchased and restored by a famous shoe firm of Le Marche.

”Antica Fabbrica Laterizi” is a marvellous piece of industrial archaeology. Inside Coquus Fornacis offers the chance of enjoying Le Marche traditional gastronomy reinterpreted in an original way. It is also possible to book an accommodation with breakfast included.

Coquus Fornacis also offers the chance of reserving a congress hall (sits 80). The ancient furnace will so become a dramatic location for breakfasts, banquets, ceremonies, events, fashion shows...

B&B Coquus Fornacis

Coquus Fornacis is beautifully surrounded by Le Marche countryside. It is located close to Serra de’Conti, a medieval hamlet and about 25km from the Spiaggia di Velluto (Velvet Beach) of Senigallia

The majestic furnace and the characteristic brick-made chimney recalls to mind the ancient splendour of the factory whose brick production was one of the first industrial activities in the area. 

“Coquus Fornacis” restaurant is renowned for its refined and delicate cuisine. 

It is furnished with modern materials matching with red baroque pendants all in harmonic contrast with the oriental style curtains and the ancient bricks of the outside

On the first floor the brick-kiln has been restored and turned into a B&B. Four single bedrooms and 2 double ones have been made. They are furnished in modern, minimalist style. 

They all look on the stunning kiln and are provided with en-suite, chromo-therapy and Tv sat. The breakfast room is located on the same floor and opens on a terrace where the meal can be enjoyed in the summer.

Coquus Fornacis is also: animal friendly, air conditioning, telephone, internet connection, bar, payments with credit cards and private parking. 


How to get there:

Coming from North-South: A14 motorway, exit at Senigallia. Take the SP360 direction Arcevia for 25km, then turn right towards Serra dè Conti. At the traffic light go ahead. 

Coming from Rome: Ancona-Roma high-way, exit at Castelbellino and drive in direction Montecarotto-Serra dè Conti. Drive through the town Centre of Serra de’Conti and at the traffic lights in Osteria, turn left.
