Macerata Feltria, which emerged during the medieval ages at the centre of a prosperous valley, is a place of great interest to archeology lovers. Here you’ll discover the roman remains of Pitinum Pisaurense, starting your visit at the beautiful medieval church Pieve di San Cessiano “in Pitino.” The numerous therapeutic properties of the sulfurous waters of Macerata Feltria were already known in the roman era, and today you can benefit from them thanks to the welcoming and efficient spa complex Pitinum Thermae.
Sassocorvaro is home to the “Rocca Ubaldinesca”, one of the most important masterpieces of Italian military architecture by Siena-bred Francesco di Giorgio Martini. This fortification, with its mysterious, alchemistic tortoise-shaped form, is the first example of a fortification built in defense against the terrible new army that was then forming, the bombarda.

By car:
Exit the A14 at the pay-point of Cattolica and follow the directions for Morciano di Romagna (along SP18), MErcatino conca (SP2) and Montegrimano.
By plane:
